Hey Jeff, It's Michelle from the good ole Apple days. Great blog! If you like Mint.com and Dave Ramsey, you will love YNAB (You Need A Budget) http://www.youneedabudget.com/ The guy that started it reminds me a bit like you. Mint.com is great to get an overview of your finances, but doesn't totally hold you accountable for your spending. YNAB really forces you to spend in the proper categories. Right now, just a spreadsheet version of the software is available for Mac. But they are working on a cross-platform version using Adobe Air. You should check it out!

Also...not buying salad dressing doesn't mean you need to eat dry plain salad. It just means you have to be more creative and make your own, and chances are you already have the ingredients you would need to make a delicious basic dressing, much better than the store bought stuff anyway!
